Reusable Beeswax Wrap Roll – Cut To Size

Swap cling wrap for a wrap you can wash and reuse. The roll measures 33 x 90cm, so you can cut it to any size you need – handy for odd shapes, large dishes or several small wraps. It's made from cotton coated in beeswax, tree resin and coconut oil, and it's breathable with no plastic or silicone in the wrap itself. Wash it in cool water and reuse it for up to two years with care. When it's worn out, cut it into small pieces and add it to your home compost.

Rating: Excellent

Category Scores

• Material choice — 1.7 / 2
Made from cotton, beeswax, coconut oil and natural tree resin – natural, renewable inputs. We don't currently hold organic or GOTS certificates for these materials, so we don't score them as certified.

• Reusability — 2 / 2
Designed for repeated use for up to 2 years, replacing single-use plastic cling wrap.

• Durability / lifespan — 1.3 / 1.5
Lasts up to around 2 years with proper care. The wax coating wears with use, so it can't match stainless steel or glass.

• Recyclability — 0.5 / 1
Not recyclable in kerbside systems. Its end-of-life route is home composting instead.

• Biodegradability / compostability — 1 / 1
Made from home-compostable materials. Cut into small pieces before composting.

• Renewable / recycled / lower-impact material — 0.9 / 1
All inputs are renewable, but their sourcing hasn't been independently verified.

• Replaces a wasteful product — 1 / 1
Directly replaces single-use plastic cling wrap.

• End-of-life disposal — 0.5 / 0.5
Can be composted at home, or reused first as jar covers or plant ties.

Strengths

• Natural, renewable materials
• Replaces single-use cling wrap
• Cut-to-size, so little offcut waste
• Home-compostable at end of life

Limitations

• Ships from Thailand – international freight adds to its footprint
• Material certifications (organic or GOTS) are not on file
• Not suitable for raw meat or fish, hot food, the microwave or the dishwasher
• Needs cool-water hand washing
• Contains beeswax, so not suitable for vegans
